Barbie is one of the most iconic brands, and last year, it even had a film that grossed nearly $1.5 billion at the box office. Now, Mattel Inc., the creator and owner of the Barbie brand, is partnering with HMD to create a Barbie-themed phone. In this article, we’ll be discussing the HMD Barbie Phone, its design, features, and its price in Nepal.
HMD Barbie Phone Overview

A Little Bit of Sparkle
First things first, this collaboration wouldn’t be complete without some sparkle. The HMD Barbie Phone comes with a set of cool accessories, including two back covers for extra flair, a beaded lanyard with attachable charms, and some stickers and gems. It also includes a pink USB-A to USB-C cable and a pink cleaning cloth.
The phone’s box itself is themed, with a pink design resembling a jewelry box. Even the removable battery is pink! The phone’s user interface is customized with Barbie-themed icons, wallpapers, and ringtones. The iconic Snake game has been reimagined as “Malibu Snake,” and HMD has also hidden some Easter eggs in the software. This phone focuses on self-care, which is why there are no social media apps on it. Instead, it offers digital balance tips and Barbie-themed meditation content.
The Phone Itself
While the Barbie-themed elements are fun and eye-catching, the hardware of the phone is just as important. The HMD Barbie Phone is essentially the same as the Nokia 2660 Flip and comes in two variations depending on the market.
Design and Display

The HMD Barbie Phone features a Power Pink color and a flip-phone form factor, with “Barbie” branding on all sides. There’s a small gap on the hinge to attach the lanyard, and the front panel of the phone is a reflective surface with a silver coating. Beneath this reflective layer is a secondary 1.77-inch display with QQVGA (160 x 120 pixels) resolution. Inside, there’s a slightly larger 2.8-inch display with QVGA (320 x 240 pixels) resolution.
Performance
For international markets, the HMD Barbie Phone is powered by the UNISOC T107 processor, paired with 64MB of RAM and 128MB of internal storage. The phone runs on the S30+ operating system and features a basic 0.3MP camera. It supports dual SIM 4G connectivity and Bluetooth v5.0, but there’s no mention of navigation or WiFi support.
In the US, however, the phone comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 chipset, which is a quad-core processor built on a 28nm process. The US variant also has more RAM (512MB) and storage (4GB) and runs on KaiOS 3.1. Additionally, it features a 5MP camera, WiFi, and navigation support. However, it only supports a single SIM and has an older version of Bluetooth (v4.2).
Both versions of the phone come with a 1,450mAh removable battery and support expandable storage of up to 32GB via a MicroSD card.
