Apple is launching the AirPods 4, featuring a new, more comfortable design and better audio quality. These earbuds keep the open-air style and now support personalized spatial audio for an enhanced listening experience.
There are two versions available: the standard AirPods 4, priced at $129, and a higher-end model with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), priced at $179. This is the first time noise cancellation is available in the regular AirPods lineup. Both models will be available on September 20th, with preorders starting today.
Apple is also adding better Find My features, including a built-in speaker in the case, which was previously exclusive to the Pro version. Wireless charging now comes standard.

With iOS 18, new Siri interactions allow users to respond by simply shaking their head yes or no. Additionally, AirPods Pro will get a new Hearing Protection feature powered by the H2 chip to reduce loud noises and protect hearing.
The last update to the regular AirPods was in 2021, with the third-generation model, but it lacked noise cancellation and didn’t sell well. Apple’s latest AirPods Pro update in 2023 added a USB-C charging case and support for lossless audio when used with the Vision Pro.
